Post-
To paraphrase Kwame Anthony Appiah, “is the Post- in Post-Reading the Post- in Postcolonial?”
The title is a justification of my lateness. Late to the Substack game; late to trends. My favourite theorist Adorno (you’ll see his name a lot), describes the impossibility of speaking “immediately of the immediate”. Yet this entire industry revolves around doing just that — to get paid you have to be the first to speak, so we desperately draw conclusions out of half-formed thoughts.
To be post- is to be situated in the aftermath. I want to relish in the time it takes to digest, reflect, and theorise. I want the space to return to ideas. Here thoughts aren’t final.
Also I’ll be posting what I’m reading.
